Do you ever feel like your caregiving journey is hard to explain, even to yourself? Do you wish you had a way to make sense of the ups and downs by telling your story?
Join Alicia Smith-Tran, PhD, sociologist, writer and professor at Oberlin College, for a powerful workshop on storytelling and narrative writing for caregivers. Learn how putting your experiences into words can help release bottled-up emotions, uncover meaning in your daily challenges and remind you that you’re not alone.
Through simple prompts and guided discussion, you’ll learn how to explore your personal story, how it fits within a larger societal framework and walk away feeling empowered to write about your own challenges and triumphs. No writing experience is needed — just come with an open mind and a willingness to reflect.
This program is for adults only and is presented in partnership with Heights Libraries. Childcare is available for this event for children ages 1-12, but registration is required.
