About Inclusive Playgroups

Inclusive playgroups are a safe, welcoming way for families with young children of all abilities to connect. The groups are designed for families with children with or without a diagnosis who may need more support.

  • Free and open to the public (registration required)

  • Ages 18 mos - 6 years
  • Siblings are welcome but must register separately
  • Children practice play and social skills with others

Did you know? During playgroups, caregivers can talk with our early childhood experts or connect with CFK staff to find resources.

  • Inclusive Drop-In Playgroup at the Playground

    This program is open to families and their children ages 0-6, with or without concerns about development. Caregivers will have a chance to get hands-on support, meet other families and connect to community resources while children play. Led by an experienced Early Childhood Specialist and CFK staff, caregivers will also have the opportunity to learn strategies for dealing with behavior challenges, communication concerns and sensory issues. Registration is welcome but not required.

    In the event of a weather concern, CFK will notify you via text of a cancellation.

    This program is in partnership with Lakewood Family Room and is funded by the Healthy Lakewood Foundation.

    Are you looking for a welcoming and inclusive program for your child to play and practice new skills? Do you want hands-on tips and resources from an experienced Intervention Specialist? Then join us for Inclusive Playgroup!

    Program includes:

    • A safe play environment for all abilities
    • The opportunity to connect with a Family Resource Specialist and other caregivers
    • A chance to ask questions, find resources and learn tools to support your child
    • Monthly themes on a variety of developmental topics

    Good to know:

    • This program is for caregivers and children ages 18 months-6 years with or without a diagnosis. Siblings welcome, but must register separately.

    This program is presented in partnership with Westlake Porter Public Library and the Rotary Club of Westlake-Bay Village and is supported by a grant from GPD Employees’ Foundation.
