Zoom is a free program that you can use on your smart phone, laptop or tablet to connect with others. This guide is designed to help you get up and running on Zoom quickly and easily.
Zoom is a free service that anyone can use, but you can control more of how it works when you register for an account. To sign up for Zoom, visit the Zoom website and click SIGN UP, IT'S FREE in the upper right corner.
Zoom
also allows you to join meetings without creating an account, but you
won't be able to personalize certain settings (like setting a virtual
background to protect your privacy). The instructions in step 4 will
cover how to join with and without signing in.
Step 1: Download ZoomIf you are using a phone or tablet, visit your device's app store and search for "Zoom." If you are using a home pc, Zoom will download automatically when you go to your meeting. | Step 2: Adjust SettingsIf you registered with Zoom, you can optionally use Zoom settings to add a virtual background so that others don't see your home. | Step 3: Call In
When you register for a CFK program offered on Zoom, you will receive an email with the meeting link, ID and password. Use either the link or the ID to call in to your program at the scheduled date and time.
| Step 4: Change Your ViewWhen using Zoom with a home computer or tablet, you can change your view to see all participants in a program. This can be beneficial in programs like Coffee and Chat or Music Therapy & More. |
HOME PC INSTRUCTIONS: If you are using a home pc to Zoom, the program will automatically download the first time you call in. Or, if you prefer to set Zoom up before your first meeting. you can download the client here. After opening the website:
