Why is this information specific to adults only? At this time, the Pfizer Vaccine has only been authorized for people who are 16 years or older. Group 1B (to begin receiving vaccines after January 19) |
Individual adult (ages 16+) members of CFK families may be included in Group 1B if:
"...severe congenital, developmental, or early-onset medical disorders that make them particularly vulnerable – such as cerebral palsy; spina bifida; congenital heart disease; type 1 diabetes; inherited metabolic disorders; severe neurologic disorders including epilepsy; severe genetic disorders including Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Prader Willi Syndrome, Turner Syndrome; severe lung disease including cystic fibrosis and severe asthma; sickle cell anemia; and alpha- and beta-thalassemia." NOTE: The list of conditions from ODH is not meant to be exhaustive. Additional conditions (such as autism spectrum disorder) will be considered based on health impact and vaccine availability. IMPORTANT: If you are scheduling a vaccine for a child who is 16 or 17 years of age, please call to ask which vaccine will be administered. The Moderna vaccine is indicated for use in inviduduals who are over the age of 18.
