Speaker Series: Understanding Your Child’s Unique Voice (15 Apr 2026)

Does your child communicate in ways that look different from what you expected? Are you unsure how to support their speech in a way that feels supportive?

Join Anne Fleming Anderson, MA, CCC-SLP, Senior Speech Pathologist and Raisa Santana MA, CCC-SLP, Bilingual (Spanish/English) Clinical Speech Pathologist, both with the Cleveland Clinic, for a parent-friendly talk on how to support your child's unique communication needs.

Parents will learn ways to support speech goals through connection, shared interests, and real-life moments. We’ll talk about different communication styles, including gestalt language processing, and how to move away from “one-size-fits-all” ideas about speech. Families will leave with practical, affirming, and empowering tools to support communication.

This program is for adults only and is presented in partnership with Lakewood Family Room and is supported by a grant from the Healthy Lakewood Foundation.

Childcare is available for this event for ages 1-12, but registration is required.

Childcare (provided by CFK) is free and available on a first come, first served basis for children ages 1-12. Infants under 1 are welcome in the caregiver program with their adult. We are able to accommodate children with disabilities and complex needs.

Each child must be registered separately. Space is limited.
