How to bid, check out and change payment info

Silent Auction Rules & Procedures

Prior to the event, you will receive a OneCause text message on your smart phone. The message includes a link that logs you into our mobile bidding interface. If you did not receive a message or are having trouble accessing OneCause on your mobile phone:

  • Visit the event site and log in from the web page, OR
  • Go to our Help/Checkout Table for assistance (in-person guests only)

IMPORTANT: The link you receive on your phone is unique to your bid number. If you share the link, others will be able to bid with your number!

The mobile bidding interface is easy to use and will allow you to search for silent auction items by name, item number or category.

When you bid on an item, that item’s information will appear under your profile icon (upper right corner) so that you can continue to check the item’s status throughout the evening. You will also receive notifications if someone outbids you. OneCause can even be set up to auto-increment your bid to a fixed level.

Please Note: Once you have placed a bid, you are committed to pay that amount should no one bid higher.

How Do I Check Out?

Instead of waiting in line to pay for your purchases at the end of the evening, you can check out by simply tapping the Check Out button on the OneCause mobile bidding interface. You can use the same credit card that you provided at registration (or when you purchased your fundraiser tickets online) to pay for your purchases.

You must confirm all transactions on your smartphone before your card can be charged, so be assured that your card will never be charged without your permission.

Changing Your Payment Method (in-person only)

If you decide you want to use another payment method (choose a different credit card, cash or check), you are welcome to do so by coming to the Help/Checkout Table at the end of the event. Our volunteers will be happy to assist you with finalizing payments.

Once You Have Checked Out

If you won a silent auction basket, please feel free to take it after you have completed your check out. If your basket description contains “Certificate Pickup in Hallway” be sure to stop and pick up your certificate from the Help/Checkout desk.

If you bid virtually, our staff will be in touch with you to receive your basket.

Additional Rules

  • All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds on baskets. 
  • Connecting for Kids reserves the right to withdraw any basket for which bids have not reached a satisfactory level and to replace/add items as needed. 
  • It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements with donors for use of certificates and vouchers. Please be mindful of expiration dates and restrictions.
