Feeding and Diet Changes (parts 1 and 2)

With Marge Robison, MPH RD LD (part 1) and Christine A Chambers, MEd, OTR/L, Abilities First (part 2)

Presented: 2012

Description of Presentation

Part one of this presentation focuses on what types of foods and how many services are needed of each to provide adequate nutrition for a growing child. The slides also help to define the difference between a "picky eater" and a "problem feeder," suggest ways to reduce stress at meal times and look at other conditions that can play into a problem feeding condition.

In part two of the presentation, Chris Chambers looks at the reasons why children become resistant to feeding, what to expect in an occupational therapy evaluation for feeding, the different sensory components of meal time and strategies to introduce your child to more foods.
