During our Grandparent Coffee and Chat support groups, we field all types of questions from grandparents who want to know how they can support their children and grandchildren without meddling, create a connection with their grandchild and better understand their grandchild’s struggles.
This Grandparents Day, Sunday, September 10, Connecting for Kids is giving you the opportunity to both honor and educate the ones you love.
For only $5, a grandparent or special friend can receive a handwritten card from Connecting for Kids via U.S. mail. The card will indicate that they were honored by you for Grandparents Day. It will also invite them to privately call or email CFK on Sunday, September 10 from 10 am – 5 pm.
On that day, CFK staff will be available to answer grandparent questions and help them to understand the challenges you face as you raise a child who struggles. We will be ready to answer questions such as, “For holidays, why do they let my grandson dress in athletic clothes and stare at the iPad during dinner?” or “Why do they medicate my granddaughter when what she really needs is strict discipline to control her behavior?”
Besides answering questions, we can also connect them to additional resources or match them with another grandparent in a similar situation.
The deadline to purchase a CFK Grandparents Day card is Friday, September 1.
Select "Honor Grandparents" under Donation Type and type the name and address where the card will be mailed in the Comment box.
Deadline: September 1, 2017
