With cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) reported in Cuyahoga County and the cancellation of classes at Lorain County Community College, Connecting for Kids has decided to reschedule the Lorain County Resource Fair for Thursday, April 16 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Spitzer Conference Center. We recognize April 16 is the last day of Passover; however, it is the only day LCCC had available to reschedule.
This decision was made by our Executive Director in consultation with the Connecting for Kids Executive Board, balancing the need for families to connect to resources and the safety of attendees.
We know this is disappointing news for our families as well as the professionals and organizations that have been planning for this event. However, we ask for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. For information on COVID-19, as well as tip sheets to help keep your family safe, we recommend the following resources:
Please note that the Meet and Greet scheduled for Wednesday, April 8 is scheduled to go on as planned. As this is an evolving situation, we will be working closely with the local health officials to determine further cancellations, if needed, and will keep you apprised.
Families who have preregistered for the Lorain County Resource Fair do not need to re-register to attend the rescheduled fair. If you registered and can no longer attend the fair, we understand and you do not need to change your registration at this time.
All families are invited to use the Connecting for Kids "Ask Us!" service to identify programs and providers for their child/ren. To contact a Family Resource Specialist and get help, call or text 440-570-5908 (para español, 440-907-9130). You can also email email@example.com
We are encouraging vendors who plan to attend the Lorain County Resource Fair to share fliers on the Connecting for Kids Flier Connection Facebook group. We will post fliers as we receive them and encourage families to check frequently for updates.
In addition to joining the Flier Connection group, we encourage families to visit the Virtual Resource Fair, featuring virtual tours, provider showcases and interviews from our Lorain County Resource Fair and Meet and Greet Sponsors.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 440-570-5908 (para español, 440-907-9130) or email firstname.lastname@example.org
As a vendor, you will automatically be re-registered for the April 16 event. Please check your email for additional information on confirming your attendance.
We realize that postponing the event will result in a delay from when you would have been able to distribute information to families. To help spread information about your programs, we encourage you to submit fliers for distribution through our Facebook group, the CFK Flier Connection. To do this:
