Hands-on Parent Training
In partnership with Westlake Porter Public Library, Connecting for Kids is offering a host of programming for families with questions or concerns about their child's development.
Music Therapy and More with MTEC
Come join us for our new "Music Therapy and More" class! On the first Friday of each month, a Board-Certified Music Therapist will lead families in a fun and exciting music-making class. Children and their caregivers will play instruments, sing, and move to music! Throughout the session, the therapist will present experiences that address that month's focus area. At the conclusion of each session, caregivers will receive a handout with ideas and resources, as well as have time to speak to the therapists about any specific questions they have about how to carry over the music therapy experiences into the home!
Teach Me To Play
Join us for hands-on workshops designed to help parents facilitate play dates and positively discipline. Led by Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Child Intervention Specialists, we will run a playgroup and teach parents how to help their child to share, take turns and practice social skills.
Kids in Motion Sensory Storytime
Westlake Porter Library will offer monthly Sensory Storytimes for children who struggle to participate in regular storytimes. The first 30 minutes will be games, stories, music and fun activities. The next 30 minutes will be social-sharing time. No registration required. Siblings welcome.
